From magnum. This was the red wine of the night, unanimously. Lovely Vosne spice on the nose, some smoked meat. Soft tannins, exotic spices and a melange of red and blue fruit. Some thought there was a touch too much oak - and then they asked for more wine, actions speak louder than words. It was quite funny to see people trying to wring the last drop out of this bottle. My friends would have easily and happily polished off 2 or 3 mags had they been available.

Started off very promising with dark fruit and asian spice box nose. Loads of red fruit and spice with some more exotic notes, very powerful but in a velet glove as they say, if too much wood initially. After the first glass the wine lost some complexity and gave more cherry cola notes and the acidity became piercing. The finish was surprisingly short. Nice complexity and power but disappointing for a Richebourg.

Chicago Berserkerfest Dinner #3 (Chez Whitehead - Northbrook IL): Another very successful 2000 drinking very well now. Mature red fruit aromas with some ripe character, nicely balancing fruit and earth at this stage. good spice throughout on nose and palate, very elegantly showing off Richebourg charm. Very good now.

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Rich, ripe, earthy, brooding, deep and complex, ripeness visible. I love how some of the wines defy the inherent thinness of red Burgs 2000.
