Came across some bottles in the secondary market at a nice price and decided to give it a shot. Dark ruby/purple fruit - currants/cassis, blackberry, dark cherry, and a little blueberry. Smooth mid-palate with decent depth/concentration, however, I expected a little bigger/fuller fruit in light of the vintage - medium/medium plus body. Nice flavors of dark berries, some spice, a little chocolate/cocoa, and a mineral/graphite component. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep. Decanted for one hour and drank over a couple more. Improved a little with time. Drank next to a 2016 Carter Weitz cab which was quite a bit better - bigger/fuller fruit, more expressive/flavorful, longer/deeper finish, etc.. Frankly I expected more from the Stagecoach cab in consideration of the great vintage and the Winery direct price. In my opinion, a little better than Parker's 91+ rating and in line with the 93 rating from Galloni. 100% cab.

Three hour decant. Nearly opaque purplish magenta color. Dark chocolate, black cherry, anise, uncooked pasta, strawberry jelly and subtle spearmint gum wrapper on the simultaneously voluptuous and serious nose. Dry, super smooth palate, with satiny acidity. Soft, long lasting tannins. This is fully integrated and at its peak for my palate.

Yet another impressive Atlas Peak fruit Year and JH knows how to blend. Excellent color, nose, pallet and finish. Perfect blend of oak, tannins and dark cherry and blackberry fruit with a finish leaving you craving more

Just reported that Parker has given this wine a 99. This is one to hold onto.
