Medium ruby color. Intriguing nose of sweet tobacco and red licorice. On the palate it's a bit thin; some honey notes in the middle but a weak finish. Youthful tannins should hold it awhile.

Lots of depth and complexity, great weight, clean and enjoyable. This was closed in as recently as a half a year ago and now is quite nice, fresh, crunchy, cru level interest.
I've heard Duboeuf is moving toward native yeasts etc. and I wonder if their efforts, if any, are starting to pay off.
I've also heard Quatre Vents is an unusually good Duboeuf producer, and this bottle supports that. The label specifies a R. Darroze as proprietaire - is Duboeuf just buying/brokering his wine?

Quick note...this is muted right now. You can feel the material though. With air this improved...nice earth, classic cru Beaujolais. Not top tier but good quality, though somewhat generic and slightly trending toward the Duboeuf house style. I have three more that I will let sit 3-4 years and then I think will be just right. At typical Duboeuf prices this is a good value...

Loads of red fruits. Light but serious. Second time I taste this wine and consistenly satisfied. Good with Salmon or Chicken.
