  • Stood up for months, decanted off 1oz fine sediment. Light ruby, slight bricking consistent with a decade of age; aromatic, black cherry, some cedar spice, plenty of depth and complexity; palate is medium bodied, medium-plus acidity, medium tannins (more than typical for burgundy, but not overly so), plenty of black cherry fruit, some cola, some savory spice notes; medium length finish. This is a darker burgundy but still one of great character and typicite, with balance and food friendliness, with youthful vigor but also some traces of mature complexity, and all packaged into a $50 bottle. This is an excellent burgundy value, very enjoyable now but also will likely age nearly another decade. 91+

  • Decanted before serving, recommend an extended 30 min + decant as the nose is definitely a bit closed at first. KID45$ is right about this being a darker Pinot- black cherry kirsch and barnyard funk, all very clean, pure, and classic Burgundy. Palate is very much black cherry kir with the depth bordering into ruby port territory; add in notes of caramel, toast, and cedar spice with the barnyard funk working its way back in on the retro-nasal path. There is a nice bit of development on the palate with the introduction of cola nut like flavors along with the tart black cherries. Surprising balance between the acidity, oak, and tannin while the fruit is still very primary. Definitely feels like this has a good but of life left in it. Under $50 from JJB, no complaints from Da 'Knurd on that. Overall Evaluation: A- (91).

  • On the darker side for Pinot...
Nose is abound with strawberry, light earth....
Nice round lush strawberry with a great balance of sweetness and acidic and minerality...also an interesting interplay of salt and sweet on the lasting swallow finish on the front mid tongue...
Found this to be a very enjoyable complex burgundy I could recommend to all Pinot enjoyers....
