Similar impression to my last bottle. A little more open and showing first signs of maturity. Not like other 2011 based Champagnes, this has improved slightly with some more bottle age. A pretty, fresh and ready-to-drink Les Maillons. It‘s not on the level of the best vintages but still a very good wine.

Acker BYO 2017 (Tribeca Grille): Bonus bottle at the Acker BYO auction and I was a fan. It's apples and pears and a nice spicy note and fairly entrancing. A bit flatter than the Vilmart we had right after which was interesting. Not in the same league as the Selosse later in the night, but also not in the same price range.

Tasted with a lot of distractions in an informal setting. This was based on the 2011 vintage. Very pretty notes of small red berries, minerality, brioche, and some flowers. It's medium-full bodied and pretty dense, with medium-high acidity and good length. A small step down from the best vintages but a step up from the Pierrieres in my opinion.

Huge for champagne. Deep color with near burgundy flavors. Pair accordingly.
