Emidio Pepe Agriturismo Visit and Aurora Vertical Tasting; 10/29/2022-10/30/2022 (Emidio Pepe Winery): #3 in the line-up of 7 wines in the Aurora vertical tasting that was paired with dinner at Emidio Pepe Agriturismo. My husband's favorite of the tasting! Nose has a bit of funk, but in a good way. Rich golden fruit, but with the benefit of maturity it is deeper and more mouth coating. Paired with Radicchio, Nocciole and Parmigiana salad. I loved the way the bitter notes of the salad played off the richer notes of the wine.

Pulled from wine cabinet at 55 degrees and chilled just slightly. I was surprised by the color, like an over oaked California chardonnay. On the palate: Creamy,some flint, lemon zest. Really coats the tongue in a good way. Wow, really love this wine. Very unique. Held up to veal medallions with prosciutto mushrooms in a white wine sauce over pasta. Always loved the Emido reds now I'll be on the lookout for more of these whites.

BYO Blind Tasting: Spicy and funky, high notes of yeast, almost complex after a while; moderate plus body and acidity, some bitterness, rather long. 90p

Just lovely. Saline, bright lemon, acidic, with notes of honeysuckle and savory. A bit of funk on first opening but give it some air.
