Well this is a rare bottle and almost as rare as the sighting of JK in HK! After a three year absence we finally had a chance to catch up in person. Super casual catch up but what a bottle, popped and poured with lovely broth and savoury nose notes mixed with raspberry, cranberry crunchy fruit palate notes. Remained very consistent over the hour it was opened. Delicate but still holding up very well, no tertiary/barnyard notes just showing how well made these older Dujac wines are. Lovely to see how they have become more precise over the years but that doesn’t mean the older bottles aren’t brilliant in their own way.
More importantly, was lovely to see an old friend and we made each other laugh and smile which perhaps is the rarest and most precious commodity of all!

Very pretty and aromatically expressive. Soft high note spice with hints of flowers and red fruit. Quite nice, but as good as this bottle was, it did not have the power or complexity of a grand cru Chambolle. 93-94

Great Tasting Wines for a Great Tasting Menu (Saison, San Francisco): Medium ruby with no lightening. Explosive, sinuous nose full of black cherry, chocolate, toffee, and just a small dollop of stems. Voluminous for the commune, but at the same time shapely due to crisp acidity for the vintage. Silky with expressive tangy red fruit. Ah, Dujac! What a treat every time. This is in an ideal place now but should last well given its fabulous fruit and adequate acidity.
