Color - medium amber, orangy. It was a bit "empty" for me, very 'acid forward' but not enough flavor/fruit content.

The Might of Madeira with Demetri Walters MW (Zoom!): So deep. Smoky rubber, beef broth and coffee on the volatile nose. Grippy and saline in the mouth. Bitter lemon on the mid-palate and a spicy, savoury finish. Just getting into its stride.

So damn good, and young. Complex, salty, rich, bring, solid fruit, too. Paired wonderfully with grilled oysters.

Madeira Seminar and Guided Tasting (Cream Wine Company - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Bottled in the past couple of years. Rich and powerful but a little monolithic right now. Slightly sweeter vs Barbeito '78 with lots of interesting caramelized fruit notes. Needs time.
