Perennial QPR is off the charts for this entry-level Syrah from California legend Andrew Murray.
The 2009 bottling features notes of dark cherry, plum, blackberry, blueberry, white pepper and oak, with dusty tannins. Paired wonderfully with bison burgers. I am astonished that this wine is still drinking well, a testament to its pedigree.

Incredible value! This is a great syrah for a retail price of $16 (though can be had for $13 in many wine shops). In fact, it drinks like a much more expensive bottle. Dark red fruit, leather, bacon, and pepper.

Dark ruby in the glass with a nose of blackberry jam and muted bacon. On the palate, the same blackberry jam as well as cherry, oak, cedar and subtle Christmas spices. The wine has a lengthy finish suggesting it will age gracefully; however who knows, as the wine comes with a screw cap. At under $20 per bottle, the wine has an outstanding QPR.
