Dark reddish-purple in color; almost opaque. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with notes of spices, pepper, herbs, earthy/dusty & minerals. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with herbs, spices & minerals. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing but it appears to be meant for near term drinkability. Very good QPR & makes an excellent BBQ red.

Bottle 1239g. Screwcap. Moderately intense aromas of baked blackberry, black cherry and plum, bit of spice as well as herbal notes. Dry, with moderate acidity, full-bodied, 14.5% abv but well-integrated, dense with ripe fruit but finishing cleanly, allowing some salinity to wrap it up. Just moderate tannins—this is not for long cellaring—but it's a terrific value (hell, it was on sale at Whole Foods). I impulsively roasted a whole duck, and this will help wash it down nicely.
