  • Dark reddish-purple in color; almost opaque. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with notes of spices, pepper, herbs, earthy/dusty & minerals. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with herbs, spices & minerals. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing but it appears to be meant for near term drinkability. Very good QPR & makes an excellent BBQ red.

  • Bottle 1239g. Screwcap. Moderately intense aromas of baked blackberry, black cherry and plum, bit of spice as well as herbal notes. Dry, with moderate acidity, full-bodied, 14.5% abv but well-integrated, dense with ripe fruit but finishing cleanly, allowing some salinity to wrap it up. Just moderate tannins—this is not for long cellaring—but it's a terrific value (hell, it was on sale at Whole Foods). I impulsively roasted a whole duck, and this will help wash it down nicely.
