Medium purple in color, this wine showed classic Zinfandel notes of brambly, jammy dark blackberry, dark cherry and unique, intense asian spices. The mouth feel is very full with almost sweet tannins. The finish is medium and balanced with more than enough acidity to keep the 14.5% abv in check, not showing any heat.
Purchased for $14US, this was an enjoyable zin for a cold winter night. I'd purchase this wine again and would easily recommend it to others.

It's a nice Zin, but not as nice as we expect from Amador County Zinfandels. Reasonable bouquet, kind of typical Zin fruity aroma. Initial bite was good, dark fruit on the tongue. However, it tastes too hot alcohol-wise (it's only 14.5%, but still feels hot so appears to be slightly out of balance), and the finish is medium-short, less than we'd expect. The final finish on aftertaste is a nice vanilla-oak, which is pleasant, but think with more tannins or different acid level, it would be better balanced with the alcohol. Definitely need food to help balance the wine. Still, not a bad Zin, just not as good as we'd expect from our favorite Amador County area.

Nice and deep and dark and tasty with lots of fruit in there. Will hold well till 2015 and perhaps needs some time to just mature a hair.
Nose has dark blackberry/lightly oaky/smokey quality. Palate is full bodied, candied bright fruit with nice balance of tart acid on attack and mid-palate with some structure with lightly coating tannin. Finish is medium length I would say with rapidly fading fruit and light vanilla/oak undertones. Comes off a tad hot without food.
For low price, putting a few bottles on shelf for next few years would be a great experience. This would pair with a variety of food also. Does come off as i suggested above "off dry" at least for me.

Blackberry noted zin that's not overpowering. It's balanced and not a fruit bomb. Great QPR and went great with pizza.
