This is a spectacular spatlese that is showing nearly perfectly at this place in time. The nose opens with ripe notes of yellow citrus, peach, apricot, wild flowers and honey. The palate is sweet and lush with balancing acidity. Sweet flavors of peach, quince, lemon-lime and honey lead to big, bracing acidity with a touch of stone and almost a hint of spice. The finish seeming lasts forever with lingering sweet fruit and mouth-puckering acidity. Just wonderful!

A small RIesling blind tasting (Oinoscent): The nose is clean, crisp, med to med+ intensity, lime, lime zest, lemon, pineapple and pear. The wine is off dry (at least), quite refreshing acidity, pineapple, pear, lime, med+ body and intensity, the sweetness is quite profound in the palate, almost overpowering the acidity. It would be nice with food and on its own, as it gets warmer in the glass, it offers apple notes too, med to med+ finish. Very good quality, drink now or hold

Very pale greenish gold in the glass. Terrific nose of new rubber, neoprene, ethanol aromas, and some fresh white florals. Intense palate dominated by grapefruit citrus with honeysuckle, honeydew, and green melon. Lemon zest present throughout. Nothing to speak of in the way of minerals and a touch more residual sugar that preferable, although it was still technically dry. Perfect with Indian food though and enjoyable.

Wonderful for a basic spatlese - very complex on the nose, with floral and mineral qualities. Light and subtle in style, but just wonderful and delicate. 91-92
