At 6+ years this wine is still primary with grape skin tones still evident on the palate. It is at least a couple of years away from maturity. After 2+ hours the wine is evolving with hints of black cherry and anise seed. This is a muscular wine, as Lirac should be. Serious juice! Real extract, excellent wine making!

Greyish gold. Pleasant, slightly aromatic, citrus, fruity. Fruity with good acidity, bitter in the mid palate, needs food, hot from the alcohol, quite long.

It has a rich nose of fruit (and aniseed?). This is a full-on, full bodied and powerful wine. The flavour is hard to place - it has attributes both of a Chateauneuf white and a Northern Rhone. Given the large number of Rhone varietals that is perhaps not surprising. However, if it had been blind I would have guessed Northern Rhone from the slight (Marsanne?) bitter note on the finish. Did I say it's delicious? Slightly warm on the finish though, which is my only criticism. dg+

Tasted a few times recently. Fresh fruit cocktail. Fairly aromatic. Juicy, fresh fruit. Just a bit of heat. Very nice, and a solid value white Rhone.
