French road trip, mainly Rhône valley; 9/4/2022-9/18/2022: From open 75cl at Domaine de la Mordorée tasting room. Raised in used barriques. Distant smoke and perhaps a hint of struck match on the nose; medium-bodied, pure, “watery” entry with very gentle acidity; straightforward, non-descript-Southern-Rhône mid-palate with some heat from the otherwise well-intengrated 14,5% alc., but no identifiable structure/minerality/acidity/fruit/[interest]; short, pleasantly dry finish. Demeter certified, and perhaps as a result priced at a stiff 24 EUR/cellar door. Might be more interesting after a couple of years sideways. 86-87P(?)

Really delicious. Versatile, some richness and fruit but not overwhelming, balanced, medium weight. Need to buy more.

Okhuysen-Proeven tussen de Stellingen: A bit flat, maybe closed, bouquet, tasty, stylish, dry, smooth and with soft spices, quite long aftertaste.

Quite light, refreshing, missing some concentration.
