Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. This 100% Chardonnay-based vintage sparkler is very crisp and clean, despite the 60 months aging on the lees. Clear, medium yellow, with nice, small, persistent bubbles. The nose is clean, with green apple, lemon, white flower, brioche, vanilla, gingerbread and blanched almonds. The palate is dry, consistent with the nose, but with a lemony and briny edge to the minerally finish. Medium (+) acidity, medium alcohol (12.5%) and medium (+) length. It is drinking well now and seems more youthful than its stated age. Will certainly show well for several more years.

Not rated, because it seemed this bottle had a bit of a leaky cork. A bit oxidized, but still nice to have tried.

Very elegant, with significant fruit on the front end, solid structure, and a crisp soft finish. Quite delicious.
