Decanted 30 minutes before service - 90 minutes would have been best, as there was some volatile acidity which took a little while to dissipate. In the glass, a youthful, saturated purplish-red at the rim, shading to a darker reddish-maroon at the core. On the nose, sharp cherries, a bit of orange pith, thyme, and nutmeg. On the palate, a lean, acid-driven attack, that unfolds into a lush, smooth wave of cinnamon and orange-seasoned cherries on the palate, with a long, silky finish. Enjoyable right now, but I think there is a bit of room for improvement with another 3+ years in the cellar.

We found this wine wonderful and quite the opposite of what one professional wine critic had to write about it. There was a strong red fruit presence with plenty of complexity, mouthfeel, and aftertaste. Drank over two nights with similar thoughts.

Sour cherry fruit that is a bit restrained with a touch of spice and raspberry on the finish. Even after an hour plus decant, the wine remained a bit closed and not as expressive as other Aubert Pinot Noir’s.

It’s a well made wine with beautifully integrated oak and layers of fruit. However, like every other Aubert Pinot noir I’ve had, its just too hot and ripe for me to enjoy.

Nice cherry, raspberry and cedar notes, better than a fun pop and pour, but certainly an easy drinker
