Currently starting somewhat lean, almost tight, but then gives way to building cherry, mineral, and warm spice. Tannins are well balanced and probably have many more years to give. Finish is the best part and builds for some time, before lingering on and on.

Similar to my previous notes with a sleek front end that's somewhat floral. Firm, well intergrated tannins giving way to a building juicy blue fruit and leather finish. An elegant wine that would do well with creamy styles of pasta rather than my pick with Steak.

This wine is so neutral, so muted, so nondescript on the palate that it's like drinking a well-made facsimile of wine that contains no wine. It's not in any way over the hill, spoiled, overly reductive for a Rioja, just lackluster. My 90 score reflects the lack of flaws I can detect, but this has failed to live up to its promise.
