A wine that speaks softly but has a lot to say. A lot of nuance. Smells of watermelon, and on the palate there is juicy red fruit plus hints of white pepper and wild herbs that remind me of a Grenache-based rosé from the Rhône. Very contemplative rosé that can seem a bit one-dimensional at first but really opens up and was even more delicious on the second day.

Paler salmon color with strawberry and hazelnut on the nose. Dryer, strawberry, melon, mineral flavors. Has a touch of unpleasant heat too. The strawberry on the nose is its greatest appeal. At $22 for a rose that drinks more like sub $15, its not a particularly great value. Seems like some US producers simply charge more for their roses than the French. 13.1% alc. Not likely to revisit at $22.

What a delicious rose. Full bodied and flavorful and nicely balanced. Nice on its own--no food necessary--just a great sipper (or guzzler!)
