With air, tobacco, nightshade leaf, and medicinal character starts to show through. Palate: plum, cassis, blackberry. Juniper berry. Liqueured black fruit. Sweet spice, old French oak. Touch of medicinal character, cough medicine. Smooth, structural, fine grained tannins. Fresh juicy blackberry like acidity. Rich, complex, fruity, but with some savouriness. Medium to full bodied, 13,5% alcohol.

P: Med body; NICE frt met by mid palate pucker, this almost TOTALLY resolving by the long, slightly faint, VERY slightly spicy finish. NEEDS 2-3 yrs, I'd guess, & while the finish is CURRENTLY troublesome, the balance of this could WELL pull it through. 89 pts WE, 87 ea Gilbert & Gaillard and Suckling.
