Dark fruit, olives, brine, and savory notes on the nose. Lovely balance with good acidity, medium tannins, more olives, bacon, tart blackberries, and thyme on the palate. Nice finish. Beautiful expression of Syrah, wild and alive, yet refined and sophisticated, awesome!

SLDS August 2017: Meaty funk, stalk, lemon, earthy and smoky - quite interesting on the nose. Palate is a little bit sweet and sour, though the sourness is maybe just a touch too high. High acidity and medium length. Definitely needs the right kind of crowd to appreciate it for what it is. Given the price I probably wouldn't return soon.

Nicely fruity - blackberry, blueberry and violet. Medium acid and tannins, well structured. However has yeastiness in the taste and is pearly - must be secondary fermentation in the bottle. Keeping it overnight the cork goes out with a pop.

Consistent with my previous note, except that I found it a bit more red fruited and brighter this time. Lovely wine.
