Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • This is the most cerebral and interesting wine I've had in recent memory.
This Jura is made from the chardonnay grape but is atypical of both the Californian and Burgundian style-wholly different and very pleasing.
light straw. Very fragrant bouquet of pineapple, jasmine, butterscotch and and a slight oxidation that is somewhere between bubblegum and mango. On the palate is an attack of succulent fruit framed with copious minerality and lift. (there is a slight "oilness" like a viognier but with much better subtlety and class.
    It just amazes.
What is interesting is alot of this unconventional flavor subsides hours later and comes together quite remarkable.
This wine is off the charts in complexity and introspection.
    90-95
