Opened this bottle in Michigan last weekend. Disappointed in the lack of acidity in this wine. Aromas of freshly cut apples. Slightly above average in sweetness for a kabinett. Notes of apple and peaches. 85 points.

Last TN from 2007: wow, how time flies. Recall purchasing this off the reject tables at Sams (RIP) last year for a sporting price. A good buy: warm golden yellow, with strident petrol nose, almost like drinking in a filling station, but it's really okay. On the palate surprisingly sweet and honied (for a Kabinett), mineral, cleansing acidity.

Terry calls this a red soil site, full of meat and lean on finesse. While this wine carries the hallmark of the uber-ripe 05s, an hour in to the bottle and I'm getting a solid stream of chalk & concrete, and, frankly, a surprisingly shy approach to the wine, even with its alcohol and phenols (and, of course, blatant spaetlesen feel.) Make sense in the slightest? The score is strictly for potential, which comes in spades.

Terry Theise Tasting 2005 (W): my fav of the kabinets, this is more masculine and deep.
