Starts off showing some of TPCTSND but give the wine a little time to breathe up and it is quite tasty. The nose shows some Sichuan pepper, juniper berry and red currants. It is not generous but has a lacy texture. It has a tart berry snap with a little quinine bitterness to the finish and the overall package worked well with spicy barbequed quail.

Clear ruby-almost-garnet with watery rim, light tears. Clean, med intensity, raspberries, hay, red currants, truffles, resinous. Light bodied, med - acid, light tannins, good length, more minerality on palate and hint of ash. Reasonably complex but not up to billing....mind you, 2004 was not a good year for this region.

No decant. My first nice bottle: caramel, fruit, some leathery meatiness and spice, medium bodied with medium finish.
