I heard that 2011s were improving in bottle and wanted to check one out. The wine is more seamless, harmonious and giving than I recall 2011s were when I last tried them. Still, that's not saying all that much considering the starting point. Apropos to the vintage, this one is thin and lacking punch. Other producers did do better but this remains a challenging vintage for me.

Nose: Ripe almost liquored cherry, strawberry, and faint alcohol Palate: savory cherry/cranberry, slightly sour green strawberry, medium+ acidity that gets a little shrill on the finish. Finish: A bit thin and green on the finish ("weedy" comes to mind). Some slight bitter alcoholic note on the finish.
Nose is best item about the wine. Requires food. Smoother than a bourgogne, but there are bourgogne I may prefer more, at lower price points as well. Not a fan of this price point.

Tasted over 2 hrs -med dark red mild bricking -red berry apple peel faint herbaceousness and spice -med+ acidity beautifully balanced by med- weight silky texture provided by sufficient mid-palate sap, liqueur-like tangy high-toned slightly candied red fruits just starting to show mature elements, med/med- tannins with decent length -very nice and probably at its apogee now though no real hurry, impressive flavor intensity for the vintage; this bottle more balanced than one tasted last year

PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs -nearly semi-translucent med red mild clearing at edge -spicy red apple peel -high acidity sears a path from entry to finish, med- weight focused crunchy tart red fruit pomegranate stony, med/med- tannins -acidity knocks this a bit out of balance at the moment

Nice showing. No green apparent here, just plenty of fresh red fruit and earth with a slightly tart edge to the fruit. Time brings out more floral notes on the nose, though it's still very primary and not showing much more than it did on release.
