lovely again... etherial in its elegance, with med-plus body filled with fruit and some hints of wood in the background still, zero tannin, balancing acidity... just a stalwart bottle of 30 year old pinot (and from Cali at that)... Calera is one of the few (only?) Cali pinot that can age like the burgs... gotta love it!!!!... I think this has as least 5 years left easily (at least this particular bottle)

beautiful... red fruited and bright and lifted... my goodness I think can go another 5-10 years... love Calera -- one of the only age-able pinots from Cali and never "in your face" as I find so many domestic pinots to be

Like Chad about 5 years ago wrote. Still an amauing wine which needs a bit of time to wake up. Very complex. Olenty of brown flavours like coffee, tobacco, bread crust, aged cherries etc. There was even some freshness still lingering behind a orner in my glass ;-). A very harmonious California Pinot without a strong punch of alcohol or extract. Maybe not "Burgundian" for me, therefore it is too bold and massive, but absolutely enjoyable. Would not hold it throughout eternity. Better finish up in the coming months ....

Birthday wine, an aged pinot I actually enjoyed! Perfect provenance and condition though, that probably helped

So beautiful, good balance, in great shape. 30 years old? Didn’t seem like it.
