Wine 4 of Calera Tasting: Rich loamy earth, warm cherry, and hints of clove on the nose. Strong tannins, peppery spice with bright, young blueberry and cherry. Good tannin integration, but still feels so young.

Smell: Floral, rasberry, wood smoke, earth Taste: Mild acid, tannins (I think this is what's knocked this down for me), tart dried cherry, floral herbs, the finish was more floral.

Pinot Days - Chicago (Navy Pier): Somewhat shy aromas of red cherry and minerals. Palate is medium bodied with bracing acidity. Red fruits, minerals and spice are starting to come through the structure. Some air and a meal would round this wine out nicely. Not as closed as the 01 or 02 --- and potentially approaching a nice drinking window.

(Calera Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard) 14 pts. Group's #2, my #1 - Medium cherry red color; nice minerally, cherry and iron nose; tasty, refined, red fruit mineral and rosehips palate; medium finish
(Calera Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard) Group's #1 (my #4) – 14 pts – Dark black red color; intriguing cherry and dried cherry nose; tart red fruit but fairly simple compared to the others in the flight; short-medium finish 87+ pts. (tannic, and more tannic, with a shorter finish, than the '00 Calera I rated #1 for the flight)

Pinot Days Chicago (Navy Pier): Nice round rich cherry fruit with great acidity. My favorite of the Calera offerings.
