For 25 EUR this was really a bargain: A complex, stuctured wine with immense dark berry fruit, coffee, tobacco, spices, soft tannins, adequate acidity and very good balance. Could easily last 5 more years in a good celler. Actually a 100% Monastrell (Mourvédre) - it has to be one of the best wines from the Jumilla-region in Spain. Wow!

Medium/deep garnet color. Intense nose of lavender, tobacco leaf and dried black cherries. On the palate it is medium to full bodied and mouthcoating with good acidity and residual ripe tannins.

Spanish Wines with Rob: jammy sweet fruit, black fruit (blackberry and cassis) dominating along with licorice. Rich but balanced wine. med finish, lovely fruit in the middle. lush but delicious, touch of heat but very little.

Some Spain in NY (Tintol, NYC): Deep ruby color. Herbal on the nose, with elements of lavender and licorice, somewhat sweet. Quite a bit dryer on the palate, meaty flavors with some herb and plum fruit. Very nice.
