Had this right after the 2010. A more perfumed aroma profile with herbal notes of tea along with a ripe red berry fruit. Structured palate, but with mouthcoating tannin and also a bit of heat. This did feel ready yet or should have spent a couple of hours at least in the decanter.

This was a big red wine, with tons of plum and stewed fruit flavors on the front end, before transitioning to earth and bitter chocolate. The tannins were very strong, making the wine somewhat astringent and unbalanced. Will probably improve with significant cellaring (5-10 years).

Deep ruby. Black cherry, blueberry, black olive, vanilla, some leather, boysenberry. Good acidity, tannins are quite high but supple, dry. Tannins are remarkable silky, fruit is very ripe. Very long and fruity finish. Very balanced and exquisite.
