Burgundy "Masterclass" - Day 1 (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia): [From Coravin] There is an initial hit of mineral (burnt rubber) that is quite dominant. After that blows off, there are well-defined notes of autolytic characters (arrowroot biscuit), stem/whole-bunch character (ash), bottle-age (dry dusty earth, mushroom), and black fruit (sour black cherry). There is a great balance between the acidity and the tannins. This wine has definitely grown on me.

Estella's 50th Part two: From Coravin. Slight stalks but these are more subdued, red berry, spice. In the mouth it's harshly acidic, tight, hard, tart but underpinned by some riper fruit that is hidden away beneath a veil of sourness. Bit of spicy warmth on the back palate. Nah.

Coravin fun - Plundering the cellar (Kennards, Waterloo): From Coravin. Raspberry and strawberry, but (unsurprisingly) riper than the 2011, with some oaky notes; vanilla, over slight farmyard meatiness and spice. Nice nose. On the palate it's fleshy with savoury berry fruit that carries past the tannic grip. A little dilute but jolly nice.

Earthy, mushroom, stalks, smoked bacon fat, sweet spice, toasted red berries; strawberries. Quite sour strawberry on the bacon and low intensity chalky textured tannins. Hmm.
