We had the balance of our Coravined bottle (from 2020), when this wine was too shut down. It was pretty good wine on its own, with notes of plum, red berries, cherry, oak, a bit of spice and just a hint of sweetness on the finish.
Surprisingly, it was absolutely delicious (and paired well!) with the beef and beans chili -- as recommended by Even Goldstein (in his Daring Pairings wine book). I would have never, otherwise served an Italian wine with an American chili -- but the book said the Aglianico grape goes well with lentils and beans -- and it sure does.
It was my impression this bottle was more advanced due to the Coravin taste 2 years ago and its being stored on its side, since. Other bottles may require more time. I also gave it a good shake (search Mollydooker shake) before opening!

Went very well with ragu meat at Easter dinner. Pricey for a Pugliese but this Antinori estate did deliver maybe the best Aglianico I've had to date. Tannins softened a bit and good fruit showed after 2 hours in decanter. Also poured through a wine spritzer. Not a lot of of depth, but very well balanced. An elegant table wine that could improve over the next year or so.

Lovely rich darker fruited character to the nose with classic black cherry and spice and a touch of oak; lovely entry, lots of fruit and the tannins though a little drying add interest. Quite weighty. Needs food to counter those tannins.

Not much experience with this grape, but I thought it was fantastic. Reminded me of barolo on the palate

Fullbodied, rich, depth and balance Just ready. Rather one dimensional. Tannins could be more refined. Expensive for what it is.
