Brought this to a Syrah vs. Cabernet dinner for my wine group at a NYC Steakhouse. All the wines were opened, but not decanted for at least 45 minutes before pouring. Given the reviews, I was not expecting much from this wine, but the group (including me) loved it. It compared very well to a 2016 Elderton Shiraz from Australia. Beautiful nose, medium + body and a medium+ length finish. I'm not very confident of the longer term aging potential for this, but it is drinking very well right now.

WSET 2 tasting group get together (Utrecht, NL): [Tasted blind] Called Malbec from Argentina with 5 years. Dark ruby with ceder, blackberry jam, roosvice, sweet fruit, leather, some bacon. Medium acidity, high tannins, long finish. Pure fruit, but not my style. 90-91
15 months, 54% new French oak

Steve and I pnp'd at lunch. The nose was dark fruit. The palate was blackberry, currant and hints of spice leading to a moderate to long finish. I think decanting would have helped the score.

Intensity medium. Blackcurrant, blackberry, raspberry, sweet cherry (tutti frutti style), smoke, bacon, undergrowth, liquorice. Acidity medium. Tannins medium(+). Finish medium(+). Easy drinkable, but it lacks a form of sophistication, style is quite mainstream.
