PnP and let sit for a few minutes before sampling. Color is deep purple-red with a barely noticeable strip of orange at the edge. Deep cherry aroma with some earth. Drinking with and after dinner of roasted salmon, baguette and a tossed, arugula salad with vinaigrette. Initially a little cool the wine tastes of cherry and black cherry, a bit of sweetness, some fairly well-integrated tannin on the finish. Definite New World richness. As the wine warms, it still has sweetness and viscosity. A bit of wood/stem and more earth coming through. Delicious with and after dinner. This bottle may have benefited from a modest decant.

Decanted for 30 minutes. Started great and kept getting better. Suggest a 2 hour decant. Perfect mouthfeel. This is about as good as Yamhill get. Great job Elk Cove! We had it with reheated grilled salmon and by itself, but is doesn't really matter how you have it. If you have it drink it!

Drinking beautifully. Wine is very fruit forward with low to no earth tones. A bit boozy still on the pallet and may benefit from a longer rest in the cellar. For the price, the bottle punches far above its weight class. Very full bodied for the varietal. Short finishes and the wines dies a little to early after opening. All and all though a fantastic bottle and will purchase again.

Sweet cherry, orange liqueur, and a touch boozy. Not as earthy as I'd hoped. Good acid, a bit of spice, medium body. A good wine, but a bit of a disappointment considering the price. I still have two bottles left, will revisit in a few years.
