I will echo the "jammy black berries and prunes" and "silky" notes in other reviews. This wine, like others of this style, border on the edge of over-ripeness, but this one is not over the edge. I love this cocktail wine style and Carlisle might be the best at it of all time.

(Carlisle Syrah Dry Creek Valley) Group's #1 (my #5) – 33 pts; 1 1st place vote, 5 2nd place votes, 0 thirds, 0 last places – Same color on all of these wines: opaque, dark purple violet color with cherry edges; tighter, earth, caramel oak and camphor nose; tight, dense black fruit and graphite, with maybe a touch of TCA; medium-plus finish (15.8% alcohol)
