Riesling and Barbera (South Queens Edition): love it. big sweet black fruit on the nose. leaning toward blackberry preserve but with a more meaty, savory hint. mid is balanced, with all its power. ripe black and red fruit, pepper, hint of savory herbs on the finish. delicious now and impossible not to love. hats off to Mike Officer.
This just keeps getting better. Opened about 45 minutes before tasting. BLACK fruits and licorice on the nose. Same fruit and licorice on the palate, along with a boatload of crushed pepper. Fairly viscous. That, along with almost explosive fruit, made for a finish that's a whole lot better than a $27 California Syrah has any right to provide. It's obviously holding up reasonably well, so it probably has a few good years left.
