In the Old School style, compact, restrained, precise. A touch of modernity in fruitiness, while the extraction, oak treatment, and alcohol integration stand out. Very nice QPR.
Still young, showing only some secondary notes. This bottle could have evolved for another five to seven years. Improvement seems possible. 91-92.

NV Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Brut (2 bottles) - 89p Light yellow colour, yeasty-fruity nose. Very nice mousse, good length with medium acidity. Quite refreshing lemon notes despite more heavy yeast and toast notes.
2017 Weingut Robert Weil Cuvée 25 Trocken (1 Magnum) - 87p Crowd pleaser Riesling with well balanced floral-fruity notes, lemon and little minerality.
2018 Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Gelblack trocken (2 bottles) - 89p In a great state right now with your typical lemon, slate and petrol notes. Light caramel finish.
2015 Cantine Castelvecchio Piemonte Barolo (2 bottles) - 87p 2h decant. Strong acidity and tannins followed by cherries, tobacco, and licorice.
2014 Château du Taillan (2 bottles) - 90p 2h decant. This Cru Bourgeois is full bodied with smooth tannins, blackberries, decent acidity, some oak, and tobacco.

6th and final bottle in the last few years.
Once again: Full bodied with smooth tannins, blackberries, decent acidity, some oak, and tobacco.
I probably should have left one bottle in the back of my cellar to see how it will further develop. Well, what can you do?!

Bottle no. 5. Last year I wrote "This Cru Bourgeois is full bodied with smooth tannins, blackberries, decent acidity, some oak, and tobacco."
This bottle felt heavier regarding oak and tannins but the decant was shorter as well.

Very tannic, some stem flavors noted. Seemed too early to be opening.
The second half of the bottle was nicer after sitting overnight.
