  Aromas of blueberry compote, black pepper, old leather, tobacco leaf, blackberry jam. Palate is similar, very fruit forward to start, more of the flint and gun smoke mid palate. Tannins are still very pronounced, with a good acid backbone, lots of life ahead of it. Not the most complex wine, but certainly delicious. Should improve as the tannins become more and more integrated, but still solid now

  Lovely plush nose of dark fruits. Lively in the mouth, with the acid backbone balancing the sweet fruit. Fine if slightly aggressive tannins give the medium-length finish some grip. Decent concentration. Drinking well now but will be better in a few years when the tannins have had a chance to settle a bit.
