  • OMG! Quite a suspect bottle from such a difficult vintage. Wine drip stains down label, cork soaked almost to top, crumbled on opening with an Ah-so. Color thin and faded, nose beautiful with classic aged Burg notes, a bit of brandied cherries, a little stemmy but nice. Similar on the palate, wouldn't call the fruit fresh but surprisingly present and sweet developing a classic orange rind with hints of subtle cinnamon and mace quality within 15 min or so. Keeps evolving with simple roast chicken and rice, now showing a seared fresh porcini note along with a little more 'raw' flavor of forest floor.

Have been lamenting this forgotten bottle since 'finding' it after doing inventory this summer. Lovely old Burgundy.
