  • Honeysuckle nose. Lemon, lime, sort of vanilla element too. Body and richness. Superb balance. Enough length. I’ve enjoyed a dozen or so of these over the past three years, but this is the first bottle that’s made me sit up and go “geez this is starting to mature, and very nicely”. Wish I had more than two bottles left as I’d like to see where this goes over the next five years, and also I’d like to enjoy one each year… doesn’t compute 😀

  • No formal note, was gone too quick with dear friends. This wine has filled out and is now drinking well after being starting life lean and slightly spritzing. Adult cordial, low alc and very easy to drink. Still primary, but the edges have come off. Drink from now and watch over next 10 years. It’s extremely backward. No hurry. Light bodied, lemon, lime, touch of green capsicum. Good to very good. More to come. Lacks a bit of stuffing through the middle right now, but balance and length meant it will look lovely with more time in the cellar and likely score higher.

(Ps- read prior notes after writing this. Clear it’s moving very slowly!)

  • This bottle of 2016 has turned that first corner. It’s fuller, more complex, and perfectly balanced. I’m 92/3 today, but can see upside in this once it blooms. Limes, lemon, grass and Granny Smiths. The fizz has subsided, it now sizzles with salty energy. It will develop well, but highly drinkable now. Delicious. Will drink rest of case over the next 10 years to track its development.

  • See what will happen along the way, but this is UFO wines, light in color, low alcohol, pale, just after opening it smells very light aromas of apple, green apple and a light very light pear. After a long and quite refreshed aeration, the wine shows a lot on the honeysuckle, nicely flowered. More than vibrant acidity, this bites :) but is lovely for an acid freak like me, citrus, lemon, lime, all the acidic candies stuff... lets meet again in 5/7

  • Needs time still. Pop and pour. Slight spritz on opening. Very linear and lean and simple at this point. Light bodied. Look again in 2022. Drink the 2017 in the meantime, it’s open for business.
