Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 89 points

  • Opened the bottle about 5 hours prior to tasting.
The shoulder glass delivers a nice nose of fruit and barnyard and makes clear that this is a ripe wine. The taste is off. too much acidity, but nothing that will not come together with some air.
In fact, the shoulder glass delivers after 15 minutes already a quite enjoyable wine.

after a few hours we drank the wine over several hours. It is a very nice old Sangiovese. Lots to enjoy, but past its peak.
still a nice amount of fruit, mostly red (cherry's) and some vanilla, herbs, and chocolate. but, too much acidity put the wine out of balance too much to give it an outstanding score.
