  Excellent
  Just getting around to the first of three bottles purchased nearly six years ago. Worth the wait. Opened the bottle a few hours before pouring, but did not decant. It was nice out of the gates. I poured side by side with a 2013 Olga Raffault Les Picasses and gravitated strongly to the Baudry. I set aside most of the Raffault to try another night.
  
  Initial nose: That's Chinon! Not much brett to me. Turned moist soil. A hint of petrichor. Some mushroom. Dark and red fruits, but what???
  
  Darker fruits than the Raffault. Nose follows through. An unfortunate bit of fading in the middle and end, so the finish is modest, but it did start to fill in with air.
  
  Old school, classy. A really nice pairing with a hanger steak with a mushroom cream sauce made with veal demi-glace.
  
  Next one in 2028?
  
  The cork was in excellent condition, null seepage.

  Oh my, this is a terrific wine that is marred by a terrific amount of brett. Yes, a riper year and has the ripe, rounded fruit to show for it, but in no way over the top. Medium bodied, pulsing with a thrum of bright, crunchy, and chalky red fruit (strawberry-raspberry), ripe red pepper, pipe tobacco, stony minerals, and a very long, silky sour-and-salty cherry finish. And of course, band aid on the nose, clove spice and barnyard on the palate. 91 for me (med-high tolerance for brett), probably 76 if you have a low tolerance for brett, and 94 if you have an ultra high tolerance for brett.

  Popped and poured and enjoyed over two days. The wine was stored in woozy bottles in the fridge in woozy bottles and held well for day two. The nose reeks of herbs and cedar. The palate is classy with notes of bell pepper and light hints of berries. This wine is in early maturity and drinking well. Open for business too.
