Yes it's well made in the modern style. Nice stone fruit and some well integrated, subtle oak. However, after having just tasted several Margaret River and Great Southern Chardonnays, I was underwhelmed by this at the price point that Penfolds have set for this wine. In my opinion, you can get a significantly better wine for less money.

Dinner at Tonny (Tonny Restaurant, Geylang Lor 3, Singapore): Pretty decent. This had a rather reductive nose coming out of a screw-capped bottle. Some air revealed subtle notes of ripe white fruit, but this always felt a bit muted. The palate had a nice shape to it though, with good acidity and a nice sense of cut to simple but yummy white fruited flavours cut with a bit of citrus. A well-made new-world Chardonnay.

Golden yellow. The nose shows classic Chardonnay fruit with only light oak. Smooth and soft with a nice round mouthfeel loaded with Chardonnay fruit finishing dry and clean. Not complex but fresh and fruit driven.

TWE 2016 Expo: Toasted oats, straw and lemon. Palate is fairly worked, gives a bit of an illusion of complexity for early drinking. Not bad but not a buy for me at the price.

Penfolds entry level chardonnay. Vibrant crisp fruit fresh and with some oak in the background. Complex and well structured
