Cork was in great shape but the wine poured a pitiful watery brown color. Uh oh. Sadly it tasted as bad as it looked. Totally DOA. Thems the breaks when buying older wine at auction.

WineCommune purchase 10+ years ago. Bottle in great condition. Bottom neck fill. Cork saturated 1/3 to 1/2 Color: Deep ruby garnet with no browning at the rim. Nose: Cherry pie, vanilla, some smoke. Very nice. Palate: Med/light bodied. 12.5% abv. Somewhat tart with fine tannins on the finish. Red fruits. Very much alive, which is remarkable given the age. Medium long finish with the tannins lingering.
I expected this to be a drain pour but was very pleasantly surprised. Buying old wines from Winebid and Winecommune means you kiss a lot of frogs but finding a prince like this is what made the game worth while.
