Less candied than the 2015 GIII but just as spouting and party-rocking, the To Kalon is saved from the Vegas cocktail world by way of a nice injection of Oakville soil and darker-fruited blackberry and black raspberry flavors. Otherwise, the red fruit spends most of the time taking a front seat and doing everything it can to spark the flavor hound sensors of the palate. Vanilla and cedar come to the party, shortening the finish a bit. Still working some things out. Hit this up in a few years in hopes it sheds some of the vanillin booze and develops some additional nuance.

Rich cassis and blueberry. The wine has years to go with ample fruit.

No notes. Decant for a few hours tasted along the way. Nice wine, beautiful cassis, minerals but a bit too sweet and a very short finish.
