This bottle, however, was not tired at all! A wonderfully complex nose, at first dominated by sous bois, roasted thyme and licorice, eventually showed very sweet, though fresh, strawberry and raspberry.
On the palate, the wine grew for 5 seconds to a climax of huge concentration with wild strawberry, cedar and dusty tannins. Enormous length as well.
Supremely elegant/fresh despite its high level of concentration, just wonderful.
This kept on evolving through the night, should cellar very well, though for me, super for current consumption as well.

Opens with ripe red cherry fruit, followed by quenching, woody dryness. Reductive flint notes, mellowing med tannic grip and med acid. Seems concentrated yet balanced. 13.5% Alc.
A glass of delicious pleasure today, with all the elements to evolve into mature complexity. I’ve been lucky to sample the 15’, 16’ and 18’ this week. All were excellent, with similar profiles of red fruit, earth, iron and plenty of stuffing to improve over time. But the 15’ was the most open and pleasurable at the moment.

(Bgn GC 2015 tasting, semi-blind) Full, rich, noble nose. Raspberry, dark cherry, violtes and flowers. Lovely minerality that is subtle and elegant. Succulent and hints of liquorice. Fully integrated oak. Less spicy than some. Medium-fullish, concetrated and dense palate. Still youthful. Lovely silky tannins. Very high conctration and very good grip. Long and succulent. Same aromas as on nose. Can be enjoyed now, but will gain in complexity with further cellaring 5-10 years. More fullish and concetrated than other Trapet Chambertain we've tasted through the years.

Tasted blind. Gorgeous nose of cherries, clean red fruit, and thyme. Good acidity with floral notes, strawberries, and good structure on the palate. Quite velvety feel and not at all harsh, especially compared to the other Chambertins in this flight. Very long finish. Super promising wine and although one of the youngest, this is surprisingly approachable. If I had to drink any of the 08/09/11/14/15/16 we tasted today, it would be this wine. But really, it would be much more interesting to see where this goes in 15+ years. 96++

An eclectic night (Trapet, Duroché, Yquem,...) (Tøyen, Oslo): I slow-oxed only 1 hour, since a bottle of Trapet Chambertin 2010 died after 1.5 h in the glass a year back.

Terrific stuff. I thought it was a bit overly acetic the first day but it improved on day 2.
