Rich, dense, dry. Red and black fruit meets briar/garrigue. Has that "blood and iron" thing I sometimes find in Gevrey. Med tannin, med acid. 13.5% Alc.
Wow. Just a baby, but it seems like all the parts are there. This tastes like a preview of greatness in the making.

Always special to drink Chambertin. Even young. There's a regality to this wine. The nose is complex- Asian spice- licorice-tea-cinnamon. Oak spice. It's young, but sophisticated. Expansive on the palate. So supple and great length. Special wine with years to go...Thanks @Pinot_Geek

The '18 Chambertin is a killer young wine. Opened in the early afternoon, the wine really shined later in the evening with some air (I did not decant). The nose was super perfumed and complex with dark red raspberry fruit, five-spice, super sweet candy like red floral tones, smoke, and espresso / sweet spices. On the palate, the wine also showed a very complex profile, with a combination of sweet, dense fruit and savory notes. I found dark red raspberry and red floral tones, smoked meats, asian spices, and a hint of soy. The wine was medium to full in body, beautifully concentrated, but also super elegant for a young wine.

Decanted for 4 hours. Ok we killed a baby. This is utterly divine, the purity of fruits is astonishing , the maraschino cherries, nord cherries and morello. The taste is divine and the finish ever lasting. This will age to become a perfect wine. I’m flabbergasted. Never scored a wine 99 before but this deserves it all the way.

Opened, not decanted 7h prior to drinking. Mindblowing purity of fruit and intensity with an incredible length. Shivering class and greatness.
