If you want a lesson in a vintage variation, open a bottle of the 14 next to this. The earlier edition is lean, energetic, and foregrounds herbal and mineral components. This one, by contrast, is soft, ripe, round, and fruit centric, with the herbal and mineral notes very much in the background. That said, the extraction isn’t extreme and the alcohol isn’t at all apparent. It’s good wine, albeit of a particular style. In my experience, the contrast actually parallels 14 and 15 in Beaujolais pretty closely. As with those wines, I prefer the 14,and think it’s more suitable for aging.

Discreet fruity nose with a hint of capsicum. Medium(-) bodied, smooth, acidic, showing subtle dark fruit with hints of capsicum and salt licorice. Overall light and elegant with nice CF typicity. Had a glass at Pastis with the seafood.

Light to medium body with soft fruit undertones. For me just not a lot of substance. Fine wine for a casual dinner weekday night.
