  • Double decanted back into bottle 15 minutes prior to serving. Color is dark and opaque in glass. Nose shows dark fruits with spice and earth. Palate has dark fruits 1st glass with no angularity. Grippy tannins. Very enjoyable wine. Over the evening wine did change, more blueberry which I attribute to the Petite Verdot addition. Again, really nice wine, purchased at Costco years ago. One of those treasure hunt finds for sure. Should have more life ahead.

  • Nose: Blueberry. Raisins. French oak. Dark cherries. Pronounced flavour intensity.

Palates: French oak. Vanilla. Blackberry. Blueberry. Dates. Black cherry. High tannins. Medium plus acidity. Dry. Medium plus body. Medium flavour intensity.

    Finish: Medium plus finish. Blueberry.

Good wine! Will age well for next 5 years, and keep for 10.

  • By the glass. An atypical St. Estèphe that tries to leave that rustic side and lean on the silky texture with certain hints of elegance on. The nose, plenty of notes of plums and a very intrusive oak hint stand out for now. It might be worth letting it suffocate another decade despite the foreseeable loss of push and vigour.

  • tobacco, earthy, some dark fruits, savory after taste, hint of vanilla, high acidity, medium plus tannin. 60% merlot 30% CS 5% CF 5% PV. seems well integrated, consistent throughout. La dame de Montrose for half the price.

  • Integrated toast, currant, char and vanilla nose. Good replays, solid palate, long, focused finish.
