At this point the fruit is a bit overripe for me, still tasty and a great nose The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blueberry, strawberry, strawberry jam and plum. It tastes like strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry jam . The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity.

89-91: have fallen away from the Australian Shiraz style, but this wine is quite good. Blue fruit in a big way, decent finish, fairly dry tannins, and nice spicy/dusty notes. This wine is pretty well-balanced, although the fruit is prominent. Very good.

Australian Shirazes & Blends (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): "Grown in red loam over limestone in our family vyds in Padthaway; Harvested in mid-MAR, most of the frt is initially barrel fermented, then undergoes malolactic fermentation before hand selection of the finest barrels; Aged 15-18 mos in 60% FR & 40% AM oak, ranging in age from new to 3 yrs old." 14.5% ABV; 875 cs made
N: Blood/iron with ripe ollalieberies coming on
P: Med body; Rndish entry with NICE, almost swtish frt met by some puckerish astringency which only slightly mitigates by the LONG finish with a BITTER/swtness & periodic hints of tanginess to the very, VERY fine tannins. The bitterness troubles; Give through '20 in HOPES it resolves? Otherwise, my VG... max. 92 ps ea WE @ $40 & Vinous (Raynolds), 91 WA, 90 WS, & Silver @ '16 Int'l Wine Challenge. [This vendor's (closeout?) $23.95 is an ASTOUNDING ~ $12 < the least of wine-searcher's 3 postings!]

Too overripe and sweet? Also hot and dry. Not in balance.
