Despite my alma mater Lehigh U. losing to Lafayette today, we began decorating the house for Christmas tonight. Thought we'd go with the North Star wine...I got a lot of oak on the nose after a good 30 minute decant. Lot of fruit...I call it Jolly Rancher Cherry, some strawberry but good acidity and tannin balance. It was a little single dimensional but very drinkable...loses a point at $20 was hoping for more. A bit left and will update if it's better the second day.

This is an excellent wine and great value for money. I've left it for a couple of years and it's drinking perfectly now. Ruby colour. Blackberries on the nose, jammy but not too rich. Full bodied, smooth, more red berry fruits, minty. Quite long. Great match for griddle lamb.

From bottle: Tempranillo varietal blend aged for 12 months in French and American oak Nose: Blueberries Taste: Dried fig, blackberry, mild- moderate tanins Other: decanted wine. First taste was relatively tanin forward. An hour after decanting the wine was much better and approachable.

Just didn't create any interest, disappointing, especially at the price
