  G20; 4.5+8.5+4*+8.5+8.5+4*+4.5=92+ 14.1% alc. Side by side with 2016 (vintage comparison). Really nice bright ruby color. Started with a burst of aromatics and an iron note on the mid-palate. This took about 20+ minutes to open into a lovely Oregon Pinot Noir. Compared with the 2016, this has a lighter color and brighter profile. Vintages were ostensibly similar warm vintages, but the 2015s continue to strike me as needing more time and will ultimately cellar much longer. The 2015, despite being a "warmer" vintage like the 2016, presents like a cool vintage but without any vegetal notes that can be present in the less ripe cool vintages. This is actually fully ripe in the red berry, raspberry, strawberry spectrum and will likely be quite incredible 10+ years into the future. Good now with 20 minutes in the glass and even crossing into delicious at an hour. Day 2 similar notes, but open in maybe 5 minutes in the glass and diminishing of aromatics and some of the "freshness" of Day 1. Day 5 it finally reached full harmony with only some degradation of the aromatics, otherwise everything was great. I stopped buying Argyle wines after the 2016 vintage, but I must say, this 2015 and 2016 comparison raises their stock a bit. Part of that is the Nuthouse is an Eola-Amity Hills AVA, which I think may be the best AVA in Oregon and takes several years of cellaring to show well.

  From magnum at Thanksgiving in NC. Generally soft and round. Fairly non-descript pinot fruit and earth notes. Soft acidity. Minimal tannins. Probably past peak drinking.

  Glad I held this bottle until now. Great drinking window today. Not overly concentrated, just a fabulous down to earth Pinot from Oregon. Wish I had more.

  I'm less impressed than the pro critics appear to be. The wine is well balanced, open, medium bodied and easy to appreciate. The attack is fairly soft. The fruits are moderately juicy red berry. There is some strength in the finish but, overall, this lacks power & depth. It was no match for a simple seared sirloin, but may have worked with lean sockeye salmon or trout. I doubt this would hold up to lamb, as it has not enough leading acid or tannin.
